About Me
Student. Developer. Linux enthusiast. Pianist. Creator of ENux.
I'm Emir a 13 year old guy from Türkiye who likes building systems programs
I spend a lot of my time working with Linux, systems software, CLI tools and open source projects. My biggest project is ENux, a Linux distribution built around combining multiple package ecosystems.
Outside of programming, I play piano and compose music. I also enjoy experimenting with computers, operating systems and basically anything that lets me figure out how things work underneath.

Things I've Built
The other thing I spend an unreasonable amount of time doing.
Before programming became such a huge part of my life, piano was already there. It became a way for me to express ideas that aren't really suited for code.
I play classical repertoire, work on technically demanding pieces and compose my own music. Sometimes, when something is compiling and there's nothing else to do, I just sit down and play.
Starting Piano
How I started playing piano and what made me continue. In 5th grade, my music teacher saw my interest in piano, and asked whether I want to learn it or not. I said yes, and was eager to learn it. My first song was a 5 finger Jingle Bells, the feeling was amazing when I learnt it Then it started getting harder. Some of the pieces and my failure made me want to quit the piano. But with the support of my family, I pushed even more. At 6th grade, I performed my ever concert. It was a 2 minute excerpt of the Moonlight Sonata 1st movement. Some people liked it, some people didn't. Some people believed in me while others didn't. Then I performend Chopin's Op 48 No 1's introduction (first 2 minutes). That's when people realized I can play the piano, and that I have the skill. I kept pushing further. At the summer break of 6th grade, I learnt Liszt Hungarian Rhapsody No 6's Friska. It made me realize I can play virtuosic pieces, and octaves were my best friend. At 7th grade, my piano life compeletly changed. I played the first half of Lizst Hungarian Rhapsody No 2's Friska. People cheered and rooted for me so much. I got "Lisztmonia"d for the first time ever. It was brilliant. But, everything went downhill when I performed a set of film music. it went terrible. The notes fell, I wasn't doing my best, and sometimes wasn't synchronized. It was terrible, but I didn't care. Now at 8th grade, I will perform Liszt Grand Galop Chromatique, and retire from piano playing at my school.
Performances
My first ever competition was the "20th Pera Piano Competition" and it went great for me. It was my first ever competition and the star of the show was Chopin's Op 25 No 10. When reciting at one of the pianos, I was very confident of myself. My parents and my teacher loved my interpretations and wished for the best But when performing, it was a completely different story. I felt the shake of the ferry that I was in, the adrenaline was something else and my heart probably beat at like 300+ bpm. The results were "yes". My first ever festival on the other hand was the "Dünya Müzik Günleri (DMD) Festival". I performed only Chopin's Op 25 No 10 there. I expected some teenagers like me that can play solid virtuosic pieces. 75% of the pianists looked like they were born yesterday. When it was my turn, I nailed the piece. I got some good claps, and got complemented by the teachers. Also, there was a little 'spoiled' girl that cried because she made a mistake. Ah, love it
Compositions
Pieces, experiments and whatever happens when I decide to make my own music. I don't compose slow, rich yet playable pieces. I like to compose extremely difficult pieces that would make the greatest of the all like Liszt and Alkan sweat. I have composed 2 sonatas + 1 grand sonata, 4 fantasies, 1 variantion piece, and 2 grand pieces (excluding grand sonata) I may upload the pieces to youtube whenever I feel like it
Op 25 No 10
Transcendental Etude No 11 Molto Animato
Hungarian Rhapsody No 6 Friska
MY MAIN PROJECT
ENux is a Linux distribution built around combining multiple package ecosystems into one environment.
I originally started ENux because I wanted to stop distro-hopping and experiment with what happens when different Linux ecosystems can coexist instead of forcing you to choose one.
